Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) update for HTC devices finally has a starting date, albeit a slightly ambiguous one. At some point during this coming March Ice Cream Sandwich will make its way to both the HTC Sensation and Sensation XE, with the Sensation XL clipping at their heals.
The announcement was made on both the US and UK versions of HTC’s facebook page, so both countries can rest assured that they’ll be receiving the update for these devices in March.
Also mentioned for update later in the year are the HTC Rezound, HTC Vivid, HTC Amaze 4G, HTC EVO 3D, HTC EVO Design 4G, HTC Incredible S, HTC Desire S and HTC Desire HD. No word on just when these handsets will be receiving ICS yet, but we can expect it to be pretty spread-out.
Still, it’s good to see the updates rolling out or at least in the planning stages ahead of when they traditionally have been. Time will tell if implementation matches intention, but right now we’re being positive.
