Great news for WIND Mobile subscribers, with reports that the carrier has teamed up with Telus to increase its domestic roaming coverage across the nation.
Mobile Syrup has viewed internal documents that confirm the partnership, which will allow WIND customers to roam on Telus’ network across Canada.
By signing a deal with Telus, WIND can now offer roaming coverage to 97% of Canadians. The TELUS agreement alone will expand WIND’s Canadian coverage by 14% and significantly increase coverage in British Columbia.
The deal means WIND now has agreements in place with not only Telus, but also Rogers Wireless and Bell. WIND Mobile previously had a single partnership with Rogers, but added Bell after exclusive domestic roaming deals were made illegal earlier this year.
Since teaming up with Bell to offer improved coverage, the increased freedom to negotiate roaming costs has seen WIND’s roaming rates drop to $25 per 500MB for data.
