Tenacious smartphone manufacturer BlackBerry has announced a limited-time online offer aimed at luring Apple users to the new BlackBerry Passport.
Starting next Monday, iPhone users can receive up to $400 USD or CAD in credit for trading up from the Apple flagship to a shiny new Passport. BlackBerry will also throw in a guaranteed $150 USD / $200 CAD on top of the trade-in value as part of the deal.
The offer is available to owners of the iPhone 4S, 5, 5c, 5s and 6, but trade-in values will vary depending on your phone’s model and condition. For an iPhone 4S, you can expect a maximum value of $90, while an iPhone 6 can fetch up to $400.
Credit will be in the form of a Visa prepaid card, and the promotion is available to all North American customers looking to ditch their iPhones from December 1 through to February 13, 2015.
To trade-in your device, it must be fully functional with no liquid damage or cracked screens, and must be able to make and receive calls. The iPhone must also be network unlocked and have a valid ESN, IMEI or MEID number.
While the trade-in quotes themselves aren’t outstanding compared to what you could net elsewhere, the extra $150 or $200 makes BlackBerry’s offer worth a look if you were already considering making the switch to a Passport.
