Motorola has joined the dual-core smartphone revolution, following in the footsteps of the LG Optimus 2X. Motorola’s new super-powered toy, the Motorola Atrix, will hit the world market in late February and is sure to make a splash. Powered by Android 2.2 (Froyo) the dual-core chipset makes short work of just about any task you’d think to throw at it. The Atrix is also promised to have HSPA+ support in the US and, in America, looks like it will be available exclusively to AT&T customers.
Two major iPhone 4 vendors have been discovered to have the white iPhone 4 in their inventory systems. Originally the rumour, with only a couple of questionable screenshots to back it up, was based on a “weiß” (white) iPhone 4 showing up in Vodafone Germany’s intranet. However, no release date was given to lend credence to the story.
Korean director Park Chan-Wook is claiming to have filmed the world’s first cinema-standard film entirely on Apple iPhones. The successful director of 'Old Boy' and 'Thirst' fame shot the 30 minute film 'Night Fishing' in just 10 days with 80 people and a budget of roughly $130 000. Unexpectedly some of that funding came from KT Corp, South Korea’s sole agent for iPhone plans.
Well it’s finally happened folks. In around just 3 short years Apple has done what might have seemed impossible back in 2007 and taken Nokia’s golden crown, officially seizing market supremacy here in Australia with the iPhone. That’s not just for smartphones, by the way. Apple is now Australia’s number 1 mobile phone vendor.
It has recently come to light that Microsoft’s latest attempt to achieve success in the smartphone market might be stumbling well short of the mark. Despite a multi-million dollar advertising campaign and one of the biggest launches in history for a mobile operating system (mobile OS), Windows Phone 7 devices just aren’t walking out the door.
First Microsoft promised and now they’re delivering copy & paste for their Windows Phone 7 (WP7) devices. One of the only pokes critics have been taking at the flashy new OS is the noticeable lack of the popular copy & paste function. Microsoft tried to placate its fans with a promise to add the ability in early 2011 and they weren’t lying.
Google has announced the very first phone to wield the much awaited Android v2.3 Gingerbread update; the Google Nexus S. The Nexus S is designed and manufactured by mobile giant Samsung in conjunction with Google and uses the popular and frankly awesome Galaxy S as its basic hardware template.
Well folks, we’ve been waiting a while now for the PS Phone, codenamed the Sony Zeus Z1, and things just got a bit more exciting with the latest leaked video. Whether or not this is just a Sony PR stunt or an actual leak we don’t know. What we do know is that this is a real as life gaming phone. Many phone users have never been fans of a hardware QWERTY slider, opting instead for the on-screen software version. This approach to the slider form, however, has completely changed the game on the competition and dramatically extended the range of appeal for the slider form factor.
When we stumbled across the Wikipedia page for Haptic Technology today we immediately spun off on a flurry of Google searches in a quest for more information. Result? The tentative and hopeful excitement of a child smart enough to know they only might be getting that Laser-Dragon they asked for from Santa this year.

Infinity Blade is a serious step up from more traditional phone games like Fruit Ninja or Angry Birds. It plays more like a console or computer game, but with the familiar multi-touch controls of iPhone handsets.
