In the wrong place? Maybe you want to transfer contacts from Android to iPhone.

Switching from iPhone to Android doesn’t mean you have to lose your contacts. In fact, it's an easy two-step process.

You will need:
  • A computer with internet connection
  • An up-to-date version of iCloud
  • Your Apple ID and password
  • Your Google ID and password

1. Grab iPhone contacts

Head on over to your iCloud account and sign in using your Apple ID and password, then select Contacts.

Select the contacts you wish to transfer, or grab all of them by clicking the cog icon in the lower right and hitting "Select All".

Once all the contacts you want are selected, hit the cog icon again and select "Export vCard". This will create a file containing the contacts that can be imported on to your new phone.

2. Get out your Android

Now, plug your Android phone in to the PC and transfer the vCard file to its storage. Make note of which file you pick; "Downloads" is often a good choice. If you don't have a USB cable handy to make this transfer, you can simply email the file to yourself and use your Android phone to open the email and download the file.

On your Android phone, open Contacts (sometimes called People) and hit the Menu icon - represented by three vertical dots up the top right.

Tap Manage Contacts and then Import. In the From section tick Phone Storage, in the To section tick your Gmail account. Select your vCard/VCF file and hit OK. Your contacts should now be saved to your new Android phone.
