HTC’s definitely stealing a lot of the thunder early on at this year’s Mobile World Conference. Not only has the manufacturing giant already unveiled three new phones – the HTC One X, S and V – but it’s also announced some updates to its camera system and Beats Audio.

HTC has been talking about its fancy f/2.0 lenses for a while now, but so far we’ve hardly seen what could be described as mass adoption. Well that’s apparently going to change, with all three of the newly unveiled devices rocking the new tech.

Along with HTC’s new and very own image sensor chip that’s yet to be named, the camera upgrades should provide users with a higher standard of quality when shooting low-light pics. This is definitely an area where mobile digital cameras almost always come up short so it would be great to see some improvements. The new chip will also apparently ensure that from opening the camera app to the ability to snap a shot will be under a second; 0.7 seconds to be precise.

There’s also the intriguing ability to take a photo while filming in 1080p without the video capture being affected. This is a pretty cool bit of functionality, even if it’s somewhat less exciting than the general concept of improved images in dimly lit areas.

We’re definitely keen to check out some of the f/2.0 lenses, coupled with HTC’s fancy new imaging chipset. We’re not exactly sure when that will be just yet, but we’ll try to make it as soon as possible.
