…in Taiwan. The Lumia 710 should start seeing some more widespread releases very soon, most likely starting in the UK and Europe. Though we have heard tell that Singapore, Hong Kong, India and Russia are next on this phone’s agenda.

The Lumia 710 is the partner phone of the much talked about Nokia Lumia 800 that was revealed in the UK a short while back. Also running on Windows Phone 7.5 Mango, the Lumia 710 is the more budget option of Nokia’s new Windows Phone line. Its 3.7 inch 480 x 800 LCD display is reminiscent of much of last year’s top-end smartphone market, but at a noticeably reduced cost.

8GB of storage and 512MB of RAM are very standard for a high-mid-range phone of today and the impressive single-core 1.4GHz processor should definitely keep fans happy.

Where the Nokia Lumia 710 really sets itself apart, however, is its physical design. Nokia has once again taken a unique approach to the aesthetic qualities of its devices and offered Lumia 710 owners some pretty funky customization options.

Available with both black and white front plates, the Lumia 710 sports a replaceable rear case that is available in a variety of colors. If you subscribe to the notion that a change is as good as a holiday, then this kind of thing might suit your style.

This is a pretty cool idea and we’re all for it. It allows the customer to choose a more outlandish looking product, without fearing that they will tire of it before their contract ones out. If they do they can simply switch to a more sedate, or simply different color until they find one that suits them more permanently.

We’ll be sure to keep you all updated as more info on release dates, locations and pricing rolls our way.
