Although the unveiling of LG’s 2015 flagship smartphone is still three weeks away, the company is drumming up anticipation for the device by giving 4000 lucky customers a free G4 test drive.

The official reveal of the G4 is April 28, but LG fans impatient for the handset’s worldwide release can apply to spend 30 days with the device to test out its features and compete for prizes.

Testers will be given assignments and tasks to complete with their borrowed G4. LG is confident that participants will give the device positive reviews, stating that customers themselves are the 'best judges' of user experience.

The test drive will run in 15 countries (including Canada), with winners chosen based on their response to entry questions – so not just by random selection. LG says the selection criteria for picking test participants will vary in each market, but your chances of winning increase if you share your application on social media.

Customers in the following countries will be able to apply to test the G4: Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Mexico, Singapore, Turkey, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

New UX and an even-better camera

It’s great marketing move from LG, and although the test drive is apparently limited to up to 30 days, our fingers are crossed that successful applicants will get to keep their G4 at the end of the promotion.

As for the G4 itself: so far, LG has revealed the device will feature an updated LG UX 4.0 interface, a 5.5-inch QHD display, and a 16MP front camera with an f/1.8 aperture - ideal for taking pics in low-light environments. We loved the display and camera on last year's LG G3, and can't wait to see how the company has improved upon its 2014 flagship.

If you’re interested in getting up close and personal with the G4 for free, LG says to keep an eye on its social media and news channels for further information.
