Where Can I Check My Internet Speed?

You can check your internet speed at the top of this page, in the box with a blue button that says “Start Speed Test”. Once you’ve tapped on the button, our site will assess your download speed and show you its result. Afterward, you may want to select “Show More Info” to access latency and upload test speeds as well.

How Accurate Is This Rogers Speed Test?

You can increase the accuracy of your internet speed test results by rebooting your modem and router, restarting your computer/smartphone, halting any other internet activity, and using an ethernet connection to your router instead of Wi-Fi. If the results are still not to your liking, there may be some additional improvements you can make to your Rogers Internet plan.

What Rogers Internet Plan Should I Get?

If you stream a lot of premium video from services like Netflix or Disney+, consider signing up for Rogers' Ignite Internet 500u, which gives you fast downloads and unlimited data for $79.99/month. Enrolling in this plan also gives you six free months of Disney+ when you link your plan at activation.

On the other hand, light internet users may consider the more economical Internet 10 plan, which costs /month. It is Rogers' cheapest option, but it still provides you with a free Wi-Fi modem and 24/7 technical support. Speeds are slower than Rogers' other plans, with downloads at , but if you're just one person looking for a cheap monthly payment then it's a solid option.

Is Rogers Internet Service Available in My Area?

Rogers is one of Canada’s largest telecom companies, though the availability and price of their internet plans depend on location. Residents of Ontario, New Brunswick, and Newfoundland have access to Rogers' fibre internet, with download and upload speeds of up to 2.5Gbps, though it's not yet available to all Canadians.

Our internet plan search tool can show you if Rogers' internet plans are available in your area. Even if Rogers internet plans are not available in your area, you can still access the internet using a mobile hotspot on Rogers' nationwide 4G LTE and 5G cellular network

What Service Providers Also Use Rogers Internet Lines?

You probably have more than one choice for home internet in your area. There are dozens of independent service providers within Canada like TekSavvy, VMedia, oxio, and Start.ca that use Rogers' phone lines to deliver a high-speed internet connection. Unfortunately, third-party providers are limited to DSL connections (up to 50Mbps), even on Rogers' lines.

How Do I Check for a Rogers Internet Outage?

There are a few ways to check for a Rogers internet outage or unexpected slow downloads. Before you spend time trying to connect with a Rogers customer support representative, try rebooting your modem, computer, or smartphone.

If your Rogers internet service still isn’t responding, you can check Rogers' outages page or contact the technical support line (1-888-764-3771), which is open 24/7. However, if there’s a widespread problem, you may be stuck on hold for a while. In that case, we recommend using the chat function on rogers.com or sending a message to @RogersHelps on Twitter.
