The Motorola DEFY line of smartphones has been one of Moto’s more popular enterprises in recent years. DEFY handsets are functional, relatively cheap and extremely resilient. Many consumers have been attracted to the idea of a phone that is water, impact, dust and temperature resistant, as it seems that all too many smartphones end up in the repair shop these days from just minor bumps and bruises.
Now Motorola has announced the next device in the DEFY lineup, the Motorola DEFY MINI. With just a 3.2 inch screen and 3MP rear camera the DEFY MINI isn’t aimed at socialites or the fashion-conscious. Rather, it seems to be a very straightforward smartphone minus a few bells and whistles. It should also be able to take a punch, if it’s predecessors are anything to go by.
The DEFY MINI will apparently be available in Europe, Latin America and China in the coming months, but no mention of anywhere else. Other targeted countries shouldn’t expect too long a delay, except for the US where it’s possible the DEFY MINI will never be released. Whenever and wherever it does surface, however, we’re definitely keen to see how it goes and just how much punishment this next DEFY can take.
