Best Overall
Rogers Plan
Rogers’ Essentials plan is the best overall option for most customers. It includes:
- A substantial high-speed data allowance
- Access to Rogers’ fastest available 5G+ speeds
- Unlimited data at reduced speeds after you hit the high-speed limit
It provides more than enough data for streaming, video calls, social media, navigation, and occasional hotspot use without charging for the more specialized features included with Rogers’ premium tiers.
The Popular plan is better suited to heavy data users and frequent travellers. Rogers currently includes unlimited high-speed data alongside temporary usage in the United States, Mexico, and the Caribbean, plus international calling and promotional perks. However, the higher monthly cost is difficult to justify if you mainly use Wi-Fi and rarely leave Canada.
Rogers’ Ultimate plan is designed for customers who want its broadest travel coverage and premium network features. Priority Network Access can be useful at crowded concerts, sporting events, and other busy locations, while the five-year price guarantee adds some protection against plan-rate increases. The trade-off is a significantly higher monthly bill, making Ultimate excessive for the average user.

Our experience using Rogers
During our hands-on Rogers testing, we evaluated the network for everyday activities such as streaming, navigation, video calls, downloads, and mobile hotspot use. Rogers’ greatest strength was its consistency: The network provided enough performance for demanding tasks without requiring us to constantly check signal strength or switch to Wi-Fi.
That experience is why we recommend Rogers most strongly to customers who prioritize reliability and regularly use their phones away from home. However, users who spend most of their day connected to Wi-Fi may receive similar practical results from a cheaper Fido or Chatr plan.

Best Cheap
Rogers Plan
Rogers is a premium carrier, so its cheapest publicly available plans are generally more expensive than comparable offers from Fido or Chatr. Its basic Talk-and-Text plan begins at $30 per month and includes unlimited Canadian calling, texting, and picture messaging, but it does not provide the data allowance most smartphone users expect. Rogers also exclusively reserves these low-cost prepaid plans to existing customers.
A cheap Rogers plan is best for customers who qualify for a targeted promotion but still want direct access to the Rogers network. If you want to reduce your monthly costs below Rogers' standardized Essentials, Popular, and Ultimate options, you'll want to compare Fido and Chatr first. Rogers leaves many of its genuinely low-cost options to those sister brands. The below are great options for students or more budget-conscious customers.

Best Rogers
Unlimited Plan
Rogers' Popular plan removes the risk of data-overage charges while keeping costs manageable. Rogers provides options to include 60GB of 5G+ data followed by unlimited usage at speeds of up to 512Kbps, while higher tiers include unlimited high-speed data. The reduced speed is sufficient for messaging and basic browsing, but it is restrictive for HD streaming, large downloads, cloud gaming, and hotspot use.
For most customers, a plan with 60GB of high-speed data offers a better balance than Rogers’ most expensive Ultimate option. That amount is enough for regular streaming, social media, maps, and occasional remote work.
The main downside is cost. Rogers’ Popular plan includes compelling data and entertainment benefits, but customers can easily end up paying for features they may not need. Check your current monthly data consumption before upgrading; someone using less than 20GB per month is unlikely to benefit from this plan and can instead leverage the Essentials plan.
