We have admit that we’ve never been too excited about a Nokia World event before. Until Nokia made the move to Windows Phone its new and upcoming devices always seemed to be a little lacklustre when compared to the cutting edge designs of the competition. As an operating system (OS), Symbian simply couldn’t keep up with iOS, Android and even BlackBerry OS. This meant that no matter what Nokia did it always seemed around a full generation behind what anyone else was doing.

No longer. The Nokia Lumia 800 is a fantastic device. It’s fast, incredibly stylish and Windows Phone has become a great operating system that can only improve with new updates. The Lumia 710 and 900 series are also impressive, much like we expect the global edition of the Lumia 900 and the soon to be released budget Lumia 610 to be as well.

Couple this with Nokia’s new PureView camera tech that was showed off at MWC and we’re pleased to say that Nokia finally has our keen interest. What’s next for the Finnish giant and can it keep up with the pace it’s been making since the release of the Nokia Lumia range earlier this year?

Unfortunately we’re going to have to wait a while to find out. Nokia World isn’t set to kick off until September 25th this year, culminating at the end of the next day.

The wait is both bad and good news. Bad because we’re impatient, but good because it gives Nokia enough time to come up with some new shinies. After all, we had the Lumia 800 and 710 launch in London, then the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas and just last week we had Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona. It’s understandable that Nokia may have been bled a little dry when it comes to new gizmos for the time-being. So let’s hope that the wait will provide enough time for us to see some great new Windows Phone 8 devices and even some PureView integration in to the Windows Phone OS.
