Apple iPhone 4S Could be Real
There have been rumors circulating that Apple is preparing for a dual-phone launch around mid-October. Rather than just releasing the iPhone 5, many have been talking about the iPhone 4S. This mysterious device will apparently launch alongside the iPhone 5 as a new and improved version of the iPhone 4. The iPhone 4S is speculated to have an A5 dual-core processor and an 8MP camera.

iPad 3 Even Thinner and Lighter?
According to a report by the Taiwan Economic News, Apple has secured two new manufacturers to supply battery packs for the upcoming iPad 3. These new packs are reportedly thinner than lighter than anything Apple has used before in its iPad tablets. Tech sites such as PhoneArena have speculated that this could mean that the iPad 3 as a whole will be thinner and lighter than the iPad 2. If true this would hardly be surprising, given Apple’s traditional approach to physical design, as well as a need to compete with Samsung’s Galaxy Tablet line, who’s profile is also becoming increasingly slim.
Steve Jobs Resigns as Apple CEO
It’s been no secret that Steve Jobs has been suffering from failing health of late. His recent self-imposed seclusion due to medical reasons has been the source of numerous online rumors and extensive media attention. The noticeable lack of his presence at major Apple events has been obvious, as has his weight loss and increasingly frail appearance.
Apple Working on iPhone 5 Ads?
Apple has apparently begun work on some iPhone 5 ads out in Los Angeles, says one Apple Insider source. This news, although unconfirmed at this stage, ties up well with a BGR report from a few days ago that claimed an AT&T VP had begun informing managers to start putting more staff on in the next 35-50 days and that the iPhone 5 could be expected in early October.
iPhone 5 Date Gets More Solid
The folks over at BGR are claiming that an AT&T Vice President has told several employees that the iPhone 5 is set to see a States-side release sometime in early October. The same VP reportedly also told a group of managers to “Expect things to get really, really busy in the next 35-50 days, so prepare teams accordingly.”
Apple iPhone 5 on LTE?
The LTE capable iPhone 5 rumor has had some new life breathed back in to it lately with news that some Apple stores are installing LTE equipment, according to an Engadget tipster. As could be expected, the article has sparked excited posts and heated debate across the internet in regards to the legitimacy of this claim.
Samsung Galaxy 10.1 Blocked in EU
As part of the ongoing (and ridiculous) saga of what is fast becoming known as the Patent Wars, Apple has successfully blocked the sale of Samsung’s Galaxy 10.1 tablet in the European Union, with the Netherlands being the sole exception. Any violation of this ban carries a maximum penalty of over $350k and possible jail time for Samsung executives if they are found to be allowing the continuance of sales.
WinPho is Keeping Customers Happy
According to Microsoft’s official Windows Phone blog, Windows Phone 7 users are the 2nd happiest customers in the US when it comes to the mobile operating system (OS) experience. The graph provided shows that Apple iOS had the most “very satisfied” customers with 70%, followed by Windows Phone 7 with 57% and Google Android coming in at a surprising 3rd with 50%.
Next iPhone in Testing Phase?
The UK website The Guardian, has reported that the iPhone 5 (or whatever it ends up being called) has been sent to carriers for network testing. The alleged phones were transported in locked and sealed boxes under high security. If true, this is pretty exciting news and could even mean that the next iPhone is in line for a September or early October release. It’s not really shocking news, as many online tech journos have expected a September release for the iPhone 5 for a while now, mainly due to both iOS5 and iCloud looking to make their debuts around the same time.
