Images of the next Apple iPhone, and a cheaper sibling, have hit the web, confirming that Apple intends to keep revisions to a minimum and that fans of the brand had better go into any upcoming iPhone announcement with lower expectations.
Dummy cases for the iPhone 5S and 5C phone dummy have reportedly been leaked to Vietnamese tech site tinhte.vn, who in turn have generously posted photos online.
The iPhone 5S case looks, predictably, just like an iPhone 5. Its color scheme is a bit different, but the shape, size and construction appear to be mostly unchanged.
Note that the camera lens does look a bit smaller than the iPhone 5 and the flash has also changed. There’s suggestion that this is because the 5S will sport a dual-LED flash, but we’re not totally sold. Apple certainly isn’t winning the low-light camera war at the moment, with that distinction going to the HTC One and then the Lumia 920 respectively, but that’s a problem Apple would address with a better image sensor software rather than a brighter flash.
The iPhone 5C dummy is a little more interesting to see, made entirely out of plastic and without some of the sexier contours of the premium iPhone. It’s more rounded and appears to have a glossy finish. The buttons, too, look more cheaply-made, with Apple apparently opting for a flatter approach to volume control than it has for the last three generations of iPhones.
Unfortunately this dummy wasn’t one of the colored models that Apple is supposedy working on.
